I’m sorry to do this to you all again. I have more photos of my breakfast. Maybe there is a self-help group I could join. But this one is special and I’ll try to explain why. First, for Christmas I was given the first dozen eggs from my sister-in-law and brothers chickens. For all the teasing I’ve giving them for having chickens, I loved this gift. I mean, would you just look at how beautiful they are?!

Then I made a perfect soft boiled egg, toasted some Irish brown bread that I’ve been savoring since a recent delivery from Ireland and served it with homemade jam from our neighbors. Wouldn’t you take a photo too? Please tell me you would…

Ben and I played tourists in our own city this weekend to celebrate a big anniversary! The theme of the day was FOOD! We went to Serious Pie for lunch. SO GOOD. You must go. We then went to see “Julie and Julia” and LOVED that. And for dinner we went to How to Cook a Wolf on Queen Anne. We love to sit at the bar and chat with the bartender and others and got into some great conversations with those around us and with Jordan, the amazing bartender! If you go, just ask Jordan to make his favorite martini – you won’t be disappointed. The food at How to Cook a Wolf was simplicity at it’s best. Delicious ingredients made to shine.
I was asked (nicely) by my husband not to take my camera. If you’ve been anywhere with me, it is pretty annoying. I’ll admit it. I’m so slow! I just see so many things I want to photograph! So I didn’t have my camera with me but I DID have my camera with my for my photography group (most awesomest group in the whole history of groups) that I co-led through my church (Eastlake Community Church) on Thursday night and since a post without photos is pretty boring… here’s some of my shots from Thursday.

It’s nice to love where you live.

The older I get the more I realize how much my mother has rubbed off on me. This weekend I was eating a grapefruit and the sun was coming in just so that it looked like my grapefruit was lit from within! The color was so interesting. I had to take a picture. It reminded me of once when Mom was giving thanks over our meal of baked potatoes with toppings and said “Thank you Lord for greens and reds and yellow and orange and off white…” at this point we are all looking around at each other like “What the..” She was looking at all the colors on her plate and thanking God for them. We, as teenagers, thought it was weird but of course now I appreciate that she notices things like that which has taught me to do the same. So thank you Lord for grapefruit color which is neither orange or pink but some where in-between and calling it salmon doesn’t seem right…
