My neighbor asked me to take pregnancy photos of her but the difference with this pregnancy shoot and the other ones I’ve done is that I usually get asked this for baby number one… this is baby five for K! And boy do they make cute kids! Here are a few of my favorites from the session –
We here in Seattle have officially entered summer….finally!! On the 4th, I think I actually saw my breath. It was that cold. And yesterday was hovering around 90 (depending on who you asked). We had over 30 degree jump in one week! Crazy!
So, in celebration of Summer, here are a few shots I took of my girls and my youngest’s BFF -
“Mom, do you always have to be taking pictures?!”These photos just make me happy. Or maybe it’s that I have the window open and fans blowing wildly. Or maybe it’s because I’m still in my Pjs! What ever it is – what’s not to LOVE about Summer?!
My daughter took my phone the other day and started taking some photos with the Hipstamatic App that I have on my iPhone. I had to share a couple with you -
My sister said that about farting once…”Ah man, it’s never not funny!” And I thought that was funny! You see, she used a double negative! And she’s a comedian so the way she said it… And it’s about FARTING!….Oh, never mind….
Anyway, I think laughter is really important. The man I married made me laugh and thankfully still makes me laugh. I know he will continue to make me laugh.
I think that is why this image is one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken.
I was hired to photograph their anniversary party given to them by their children. I hope that someone catches a shot like this of me and my husband at our 58th Wedding Anniversary Party.
Hopefully it isn’t because one of us farted.
(Note: that isn’t why they are laughing in this photo, btw… They are super classy and would never have hired me had they known I giggle like a Jr Higher when anyone passes gas in my vicinity.)
I realize that I talk about yummy babies a lot on this blog. I’m sorry. I just can’t help it. I just want to eat them up! I’m mean, will you look at this one?!See!! Yummy! And he giggles like the recording of a perfect baby giggle when you chew on his cheeks. I’m salivating again. His mom said he’s addictive. I agree!
And his sister is personality with a capital ‘P’!
No girl should be without a skirt to twirl in. I still remember my favorite twirly skirt. My mom made it for me for just that purpose.
And here are a few more of my favorites from the day-See what I mean?! Y U M M Y!!
We had our home group over for dinner this weekend again. It really is one of my favorite things to do. We had such a great time that the neighbors up and down the block commented on it the following day. Now that is a party! My cheeks still hurt from laughing. We had a tacofest. Here are some photos from the night -
Ben has been working hard to get our wall of windows and doors finished for the party. I love how it turned out!
I made Whoopie Pies for dessert! I’ve never made them before and will definitely be making them again. The ones with Oatmeal have a Bacon-Maple filling. Yum! I’m not kidding! You can find the recipe here.
But the yummiest dish of the night…these cheeks here -
Doesn’t the wall look so pretty?!My friend Dawn grabbed my little camera and took some great shots of the night. I made a collage of them -
Oh! They are going to kill me for posting that! So long world!
When you start a shoot, everyone is a little stiff and unsure with frozen smiles and a fear of getting their clothes dirty. But once the kids realize that I’m just there to play, they often have a lot of fun. “Hey, take a picture of this!” “Hey, watch me do this!” Here’s what the boys wanted me to take a photo of in the last shoot “Hey, my brother wants you to take a picture of him jumping over me and then crop me out.”I think I like it better with the brother in, don’t you?
I had the privilege of photographing a family who were all together in Seattle for a holiday. They were super fun! Here are some of my favorite shots from the day –Hello Bright Eyes!Isn’t that last one romantical (I know…not a real word. But is should be!)?! I think I also taught them a new English word – “Smootch”. Thank you for such a fun photo shoot D family!!
Every time someone is coming from Ireland we ask them to bring us back some brown bread. We instantly throw it in the freezer and slowly savor it. Last time someone came, he brought me flour so I could make my own Irish Brown Bread. Seeing these bags of flour on my counter gives me the same feeling as looking at a baby bunny or sweet little baby finger nails. I don’t know why. I’m strange I guess. But then you already knew that. But what makes it even greater is the patch job that our friend did because the bag ripped -
Does that not kill you?! No? Really?! Ah well. I think it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen….
Here’s my first loaf of THE brown bread.
It was absolutely delicious and we gobbled it up. I’m so happy that I can now make it! There is something so cool about making something that you know has been made and sustaining people for centuries. Love it.
While we are on the topic of Ireland. Our good friend from when we lived in Ireland wrote a song for a competition for the Irish Times for a new national anthem and won! We are so proud him! The song is quite catchy. We’ve listened to it quite a bit in our house this week -
Here’s a photo of Kalle taken when we lived in Ireland during our many “sessions”.
