I’m going to keep posting photos of Ireland to keep me motivated to get my photography tour off the ground. Here’s this week’s photo -
I snapped this shot in a little village in Co. Cork. I was with my friends on a girls weekend and we were driving through some of the little seaside villages on the South Coast of Ireland. We stopped for some chips and refreshment
at a little pub in one of the villages. Across the street a man was exercising his horse by letting him swim in the bay. I was amazed at this scene while my Irish friends were like, “We see this everyday…we’re going to the pub.”

My sister said that about farting once…”Ah man, it’s never not funny!” And I thought that was funny! You see, she used a double negative! And she’s a comedian so the way she said it… And it’s about FARTING!….Oh, never mind….
Anyway, I think laughter is really important. The man I married made me laugh and thankfully still makes me laugh. I know he will continue to make me laugh.
I think that is why this image is one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken.

I was hired to photograph their anniversary party given to them by their children. I hope that someone catches a shot like this of me and my husband at our 58th Wedding Anniversary Party.
Hopefully it isn’t because one of us farted.
(Note: that isn’t why they are laughing in this photo, btw… They are super classy and would never have hired me had they known I giggle like a Jr Higher when anyone passes gas in my vicinity.)

OK, so some of you know that my friends tease me that my stories always start with “My cousin…” It’s actually true. I’ll admit it. BUT, in my defense there are lots of stories there! First, I have about 75 cousins (not really…but wait. That’s not far off..) and they are really remarkable people! So here we go -
MY COUSIN Adam just got home this weekend from his first Command Tour as a Navy Commander on a SHIP (I got in trouble for calling it a boat. Learn from my mistakes!). Here are some shots from the day!

Here’s my patriotic brother…

This guy kind of killed me! Do you ever see someone like that and they just remind you of something special? This man did to me. I took a bunch of shots of him.

And then the reunions began! So fun to watch!!

Here’s my cousin and his daughter -
Here he is being interviewed by the media. I love all the hugging going on in this shot.

And the newest member of the Starr Clan -

If those pics don’t make you bite your knuckles from cute, well, there’s something wrong with you!
And one last one that I got first thing in the morning. I made Ben stop on the freeway. It was just too beautiful!

I went for a walk on Alki Beach today with Blue. Despite being freezing cold, I had a rather good time. But what put a smile on my face was when I went to Alki Bakery for a quick coffee to warm me up, I saw the cup of crayons and the paper for the kids and decided to have my coffee to stay. I drew my picture of a tree and then decided, “What the heck! I’m hanging it up with the kids pictures.” I decided Mia had a bit too much real estate with her butterflies!
Move over Mia….here comes Christiana…

Now for the shot you’d expect from your photographer -

Sure it’s all dark and interesting. But it didn’t make me giggle like the drawing of the tree did!

Sorry, now you’re going to have that song stuck in your head too!
I can’t get over the glorious sunshine we’ve had lately here in rainy Seattle. I couldn’t let a sunny weekend go by without getting out there and shooting so I went out with some friends who’ve been waiting to have their family session for awhile. Well, to be fair, Staci wanted to go out. As for the rest, they weren’t so keen on the idea but I still got some great shots of the poor tortured souls.

Blue Steel

I think this one might be my favorite…

See? That wasn’t so bad now was it?
