I’m Back!

Can it really have been over two weeks since I’ve last posted?! Shame on me!  Ah well.  I guess that is just how it goes sometimes. I’ve been writing blogs in my head for the last couple weeks so I hope to have a lot posted soon!

So for today, I’ll leave you with some photos from our family outing on Sunday. This is my best kind of day – dinking around Seattle, people watching, being with my family and then finishing it off with ice cream at Molly Moon’s!  Oh Yeah!

We went to the Conservatory in Volunteer Park.  I’ve never done that before.  Super interesting.  I imagine it’d be great to do that on a really cold and rainy day because it’s like visiting a rain forest and desert -

I made a comment that the only thing that would take that day from good to great is going to a market… I love markets!  Flea markets, framers markets …whatever!  So we headed into Fremont to the Sunday market but you can’t go to Fremont without visiting the Troll -

G bought some glasses at the market so I snapped a shot of her with her new shades -

Umm..to cool for school!   No?

I don’t know why but I love taking photos of the backs of my girls heads.  There is a painting by Gerald Richter that I saw for the first time in my big “Art Book”.  I’d never heard of him before and I don’t know anything about his other paintings but this one is one of my favorite paintings in that whole giant book.  It stops me every time.  It’s his daughter and it’s titled “Betty”-

Here’s my “Betty” –

It was a good day…

See you back here soon!  xo  Christiana

How do you say “Great Family” in Dutch?

I had the privilege of photographing a family who were all together in Seattle for a holiday. They were super fun! Here are some of my favorite shots from the day – Dannenberg-2Dannenberg-18Hello Bright Eyes!Dannenberg-33Dannenberg-96Dannenberg-50Dannenberg-107Dannenberg-101Dannenberg-103Dannenberg-53Dannenberg-119-2Isn’t that last one romantical (I know…not a real word.  But is should be!)?!  I think I also taught them a new English word – “Smootch”.  Thank you for such a fun photo shoot D family!!

I Heart Seattle

Ben and I played tourists in our own city this weekend to celebrate a big anniversary!  The theme of the day was FOOD!  We went to Serious Pie for lunch.  SO GOOD.  You must go.  We then went to see “Julie and Julia” and LOVED that.  And for dinner we went to How to Cook a Wolf on Queen Anne.  We love to sit at the bar and chat with the bartender and others and got into some great conversations with those around us and with Jordan, the amazing bartender!  If you go, just ask Jordan to make his favorite martini – you won’t be disappointed.  The food at How to Cook a Wolf was simplicity at it’s best.  Delicious ingredients made to shine.

I was asked (nicely) by my husband not to take my camera.  If you’ve been anywhere with me, it is pretty annoying.  I’ll admit it.  I’m so slow!  I just see so many things I want to photograph!  So I didn’t have my camera with me but I DID have my camera with my for my photography group (most awesomest group in the whole history of groups) that I co-led through my church (Eastlake Community Church) on Thursday night and since a post without photos is pretty boring… here’s some of my shots from Thursday. It’s nice to love where you live.
